Project Manager

About the job

The Project Manager will report directly to the Director of Operations. S/he will be responsible for planning and overseeing all aspects of construction projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget. This position works as part of a team to prepare budgets, keep track of materials, and guarantee the quality of each project.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and execute construction operations for multiple projects at once

  • Be solutions-oriented and innovative in engaging volunteers at assigned construction projects andensure each project offers a meaningful volunteer experience

  • Plan, coordinate, implement and manage all activities related to construction services

  • Ensure accuracy of project management database including job file opening, closing, and maintenance

  • Lead, coach and develop project managers providing timely support and ensuring goals are met

  • Provide guidance and technical expertise to troubleshoot issues that arise

  • Maintain safe and secure work sites

  • Ensure all purchases follow Servants’ policies

  • Coordinate material ordering and delivery so that sites are prepared to operate each day

  • Ensure tools and supplies are stored, maintained, tracked, and inventoried in a way that protects andpreserves them and follows Servants’ policies

  • Foster relationships of trust, respect, and accountability in collaborating with volunteers and otherteam members

  • Ensure worksite safety, tidiness, and quality assurance

  • Train and mentor Servants’ volunteers regarding construction operations

Qualifications

Essential Characteristics

  • Devoted follower of Jesus

  • Passion and commitment to the vision of Servants

  • Spiritual Leadership: heart for prayer, commitment to personal growth and consistent dependence on Jesus

  • An understanding of leadership as servanthood

Education and Experience

  • At least 2 years of construction experience, preferred

  • Education may vary

Required Skills

  • Ability to plan and manage projects including accessibility modifications and home maintenance and repairs

  • Excellent leadership and team building skills

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Extensive knowledge of housing construction, including the ability to track and manage constructionprojects, volunteer laborers, and subcontractors

  • Ability to work independently as well as lead a team

Driver Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license

  • At least 1-year driving experience

  • Extensive knowledge of the operating area

Physical Requirement

  • Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds

  • Must be able to navigate various departments of the organization’s physical premises
