Applying for Assistance
Types of Repairs
Servants' home repairs are completed through our Home Helps program. We complete home repair and maintenance projects including, but not limited to: ramps, bathroom modifications, flooring, roof/siding repairs, drywall, and insulation. Based on your home’s specific repair needs and our volunteer skill level and budget availability, other repairs may be performed. Our primary focus is on health and safety, and projects are prioritized accordingly.
Eligibility
Applicants are required to be homeowners residing within Servants' service area. Stick-built home and mobile homes are eligible for Servants' repairs. Servants' believes every person is a child of God, imbued with dignity and worth. Eligible applicants are welcome to respectfully and peacefully participate with Servants, regardless of race, color, religion, gender, age, national origin, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status.
The Application Process
Completing an application does not guarantee that we will be able to complete the requested work; applications are reviewed and approved on a case by case basis (financial need is part of this consideration). Be aware that we are not an emergency response service. We have a waiting list, and it can take time to respond to repair requests. If your initial application is approved, a Home Helps Project Manager will come to your home to complete an initial assessment and make a final decision regarding Servants' ability to complete the project.
Completing the Work
Servants will supply all supplies, material, and labor needed to complete your project. There is no cost to homeowners; however, homeowners and their families will have the opportunity to take part in the repairs and support Servants as able. Most repairs are completed by volunteers in groups of 2-7 supervised by a team leader and/or a Servants Project Manager. Volunteers groups may include adults, youth, and children.
