Our Healthy Homes Mission
At Servants, our Healthy Homes work is centered on transforming lives through safety and restoration. Volunteers are the essential heart of this mission, dedicating their time to build critical wheelchair ramps, repair flooring hazards, and install essential bathroom safety features. By mobilizing community support, we ensure our neighbors in need can live safely, with restored independence and hope.
Volunteer Roles
Ramp Build Teams
Work with a skilled crew to measure, design, and assemble custom wheelchair ramps that restore independence for our neighbors.
Flooring & Safety Repair
Help remove trip hazards by repairing subflooring and leveling surfaces to create a stable foundation for the home.
Bathroom Safety & Grab Bars
Install critical safety equipment and help with tub-to-shower conversions to ensure neighbors can age in place with dignity.
General Support Volunteers
Provide essential support through site preparation, organizing supplies, and ensuring our homeowners feel supported and heard through the repair process.
The Impact of Your Service
When you serve with Servants, you’re doing more than providing housing repairs; you’re building community and restoring independence. By helping our neighbors in York, Lancaster, and Adams Counties stay safely in their homes, your time and skills create a tangible, lasting difference in their lives and our collective spirit.
Group Volunteer Opportunities
Want to make a real impact—together? Whether you’re a church group, business team, club, or a few friends ready to serve, your group can bring hope to a neighbor in need—no special skills required.
At Servants, we call these hands-on group projects Home Help Days. Your group will spend the day working on meaningful home repairs—like building a ramp or making a bathroom safer—for someone who truly needs it. We provide the tools, materials, and project leadership.
By the end of the day, you won’t just see a repaired home—you’ll see the difference you made in someone’s life—and your group will walk away closer, stronger, and inspired.
Interested in a group opportunity? Use the Contact page to let us know about your group and we’ll follow up with next steps.
