25 Years of Changing Lives Together!

Twenty-five years ago, Servants began with a simple but powerful idea: what if we loved our neighbors the way Christ loves us?

It didn’t start with grand plans or a large team — just a few faithful hearts, a willingness to serve, and a belief that even small acts of kindness could change lives. In May 2000, our founder, Trent Davis, answered God’s call to action. Servants was born from that calling, and it has grown into something greater than we could have imagined.

Since then, Servants has touched thousands of lives across York, Lancaster, and Adams Counties. We've witnessed firsthand how a simple home repair can mean the difference between fear and freedom, between isolation and community, between despair and hope.

In every cracked doorstep repaired, every ramp built, every roof patched, there is a story — and behind every story is a life forever changed. There’s the grandmother who can now safely leave her home to watch her grandson’s soccer games. There’s the veteran who, once isolated by mobility challenges, now wheels freely down a ramp built by loving volunteers.

These moments remind us that Servants was never just about home repairs. It's about relationships. It’s about restoring dignity, safety, and hope to those who might otherwise be forgotten. It’s about reflecting Christ’s love in tangible, practical ways.

As we reflect on 25 years of ministry, we are filled with gratitude. Gratitude for every volunteer who showed up early on a Saturday morning with a hammer and a willing heart. Gratitude for every donor who gave generously, believing in our mission even when they couldn’t see the full impact. Gratitude for every prayer whispered over a home, every word of encouragement spoken to a struggling homeowner.

And most of all, gratitude to God — who has been faithful in every season, who has

multiplied every effort, and who continues to guide our steps.

The work hasn’t always been easy. There have been challenges along the way — storms that damaged homes, funding that stretched thin, needs that seemed overwhelming. But through it all, God’s provision has never failed. He has shown us time and again that when we offer our hands and hearts in service, He can do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine.

As we celebrate this 25-year milestone, we also look ahead. The need in our communities remains great, and our calling remains clear. We are committed to continuing this work — expanding our reach, deepening our impact, and serving even more families in Christ’s name.

The story of Servants isn’t just our story. It’s your story. It belongs to every volunteer, every donor, every prayer partner, and every homeowner we’ve had the honor of serving. And by God’s grace, the best is still to come.
